Hilton Garden Inn-Minneapolis Downtown
The Hilton Garden Inn (HGI)-Minneapolis Downtown, was a large two and a half year development project. The hotel opened its doors for business on February 16, 2009. This Hilton Hotel is located across from the Minneapolis Convention Center. Tushie-Montgomery Architects served as the project's Lead Architect and Weis Builders served as the project's General Contractor. Site construction began in November of 2007 and the project was successfully delivered early and under budget. The entire project cost was $35 million dollars.
The hotel site is located alongside Interstate 35-W as it enters the Minneapolis Central Business District (CBD) and adjacent to the Minneapolis Convention Center. Global One Commercial was awarded the Hilton Garden Inn franchise by Hilton Worldwide in May of 2007. Global One Commercial was the Lead Developer of the project and head's up the local ownership group. The hotel is a joint venture with First Hospitality Group (Chicago, IL). The Hilton Garden Inn-Minneapolis Downtown has been a very well received hotel product in the Minneapolis Central Business District (CBD).
